Richard Hines, Jr. passed away December 24, 2018.
Mr. Richard Hines, Jr. was born July 13, 1936 in Hertford, North Carolina. He passed away at the age of 82 on December 24, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Juanita L. Hines; three children, Lillian Warren (Sudard), Linda Gore (Dejuan), and James Ricks; four grandchildren, Geneva Carraway, Sheiru Carraway, Yoshia Carraway, and Shamar Ricks; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In 1999 he retired from Teacher’s College-Columbia University in New York City after 32 years of service. He then moved to Portsmouth, Virginia.
In 2000 he became a member of the Churchland Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he has served faithfully as a ministerial servant.
